Timothy McCarthy's Bio PDF  | Print |  E-mail
Tim McCarthy is the Village Outreach Coordinator , current Chairman and  has served three 1/2 terms as Treasurer of the organization. In his role as Outreach Coordinator, he often gives presentations to school groups, faith communities, service clubs, and neighborhood associations on behalf of the Village. Tim has also been active in the evaluation of Village outreach, collecting data from audience members on his presentation and the media utilized in his presentation. Part of his work at the Village also involves organizing and maintaining the Village calendar for scheduling community events, meetings, and volunteer services by students, community members, physicians, and veterinarians. Tim is a natural organizer and liaison to the wider community as he genuinely enjoys organizing and conducting tours of the Village for school groups, activists and other members of the general public. He is an activist for homeless issues, and works on our voter registration drive. Tim came to the Village in late 2001 after living for a year in Johnson Creek Park. In addition to his work on outreach and as a Board officer, Tim has had an important role in the development of the Toolkit. Since the beginning of Dignity’s relationship with Kwamba, Tim has worked closely with Kwamba on developing media advocacy and presentation products. Tim has sought to learn more about utilizing media in education, and has taken special efforts to learn new technical skills to help out with organizing and maintaining our database of photo archives. He has been involved in writing the narration and content of the Toolkit, performing voice-overs, participating in feedback sessions on working drafts, and was as a panelist at the above-mentioned Tent Cities Toolkit outreach event.
