Dignity Village is Blessed with a new Building

A company called Zoe Outdoors came out to the Village to see if we could use a new 10 x 20 building to help House a few people here, at Dignity Village. We said yes to there offer and told them we would like to use it for a temporary thrift store. They where happy to be able to donate it and they where going to build it for us well.

A few weeks latter they called and told us that they were ready to come out to start the new building. Dignity Village decided to use the building for a temporary thrift store, at this time to better serve the village needs. This is a start to a micro business that will be run by the villagers ,to help pay our cost of running the Village. It also will help fund our Kitchen that is Planed to be built this year as well.

Dignity Village ,long term goal in helping people turn around there lives by giving them a temporary place they can call home. This is a big start to helping them get back on there feet and move on with there lives. Many homeless people don't have access to phones, as many of the pay phones are disapairing very quickly with people having cell phones. Not having a phone to call on work or having a number where an employer may call them for work is a basic need.

Dignity Village provides these needs. We have computers set up in our office to allow the villages to look for jobs or to find programs that can help them with other needs they may have. The Village is planing on using this new building that is being build now, for a temporary thrift store then for a new Office to be able to expand the number of computers and phones after a new larger building is made for the thrift store,in the near future.

It is very nice to see all the support from outside of the village that is wanting come to the village , an help with any project that they can do to help out. This alone make you realize the power of people working together can make positive changes.

We have another group that is Planing to build two new houses this next month, and another group that is going to help finish up a few half finished homes that was started last fall. We also have another group that has been helping out on our Hot dog cart. This cart is nearly finished.
