The Dignity Village hot dog cart.

The story of why the need for it and how it will help everyone at the Village. It will have photos of the cart. It is expected to be selling hot dogs this spring, some place around the Portland area.

The New Village Kitchen

The latest news on the Village kitchen. We are going to build a community kitchen to better feed the the villagers and to be able to allow outside guests to eat a hot meal in the near future.

We got a grant from two sources to help fund the building of this kitchen.  THE SAFEWAY FOUNDATION gave us a grant of 2,500 dollars to help build the kitchen  and 2,500 dollars  for food  to  help stock it. It still makes us a little shy on funds to fully complete it. If you would like to help you can donate to the kitchen fund at any time. Please be sure to tell them it is for the  kitchen fund.

The New Village Thrift store

The village wants to build a thrift store to help fund the kitchen and to pay village bills as a way of becoming more self sufficient. It will also help villagers learn job skills and help them to be able find work outside the village.

Common area building update

We got the good news that will allow us to build our new kitchen right on the side of our common area. We are going to be looking for a LICENSED ELECTRICAL CONTRACTOR that would be willing to donate,some time and some materials to wire the kitchen. Please contact Dignity village to work out the plans.
